It Gets Better - Part 2

A couple of weeks ago we had a GREAT discussion in class with Ms. P about LGBTQ bullying.
I have written a poem about bullying, and it really went through me as I was writing it.

Tomorrow, October 20th, is Wear Purple Day!
We are wearing purple to support those people's individuality and in memory of the young men who have taken their own lives because of LGBTQ bullying.
I think it is very important to support those young men for many different reasons.
First of all, everyone has the RIGHT to be treated properly whether they were LGBTQ or have different skin color or short or tall or different in any other way.

"We're all beautiful and unique in our own ways, but not everyone realizes it."

Second of all, Standing up against those young men, and the ones that are stewing it in their brains is remarkable.
Those people who have taken away their lives deserve better! How are they going to affect you by the way they feel, or the way they make their life decision? It's their life, not yours!

Third of all, put yourself in those people's shoes. Not necessarily wearing their shoes but imagine yourself in their spot! How would you feel? Are you going to make the same decision? Will you feel the way they felt?
The answer is no.

The answer is no, because you are the ones hurting them. You are just not able to recognize how much influence you have on them! That's why we always say. "THINK before you ACT"!

Treat others the way you like to be treated!

Overall, I hope this really went through you guys. And sort of gave you a hint of why we are wearing purple tomorrow and supporting those young men.
If you don't know what LGBTQ means or you have more questions, please feel free to ask.
